Bloomfield College

Rocco Constantino is in his fourth year at the helm of the Deacons program and looks to continue to build on the success he has had here during his first three years.  

In Constantino's 3 seasons leading the Deacons softball program, Bloomfield College has averaged 25 wins a season.  Prior to 2007, BC averaged just 9 wins a year during the Division II era.  Constantino's three seasons have been the three winningest years the program has had.  Last season, BC finished 33-15 overall, surpassing the school record for wins in a season by 12 (in the NCAA D2 era).  The Deacons finished 3rd in the regular season standings and also took 3rd in the CACC playoffs after winning 3 playoff games.  The Deacons also beat 4 teams who received recognition in the NFCA National Poll in 2009.  For his efforts, Constantino was named the CACC Coach of the Year and the ECAC Coach of the Year.     

In Constantino's three years as Head Coach, he has coached the only two players to be named all First Team Northeast Region (Mallorie Mathews in 2007 and Brianne Moore in 2008) and has coached players who recieved All-CACC honors 6 times.  Constantino also serves as the CACC representative on the Northeast Region Softball Committee.   

Previously, Constantino coached high school softball in North Jersey for 10 years.  As an assistant to Carl Corino at Belleville and John Galante at North Arlington, Constantino had the benefit of learning the game from two of the most respected coaches in New Jersey High School history.  Corino and Galante combined for over 850 wins in their careers and numerous sectional and county championships.  Constantino started as an assistant to Corino at Belleville High School in 1996 and stayed on the staff through 2001.  He was an assistant on the 2001 team which won the North Jersey Group 4 championship.  After 2001, Constantino accepted a teaching job at North Arlington High School where he became Galante's assistant.

Before accepting a full-time position in Bloomfield College's Athletics Department, Constantino was a high school English teacher for 7 years.  After playing baseball for Belleville High School, he attended Jersey City State College and graduated with a degree in Writing in 1998.  He attended Kean University in Union, NJ for graduate work and teaching certification.  Constantino resides in Belleville, NJ.
