Ashton Corley

Ashton Corley enters her third season as the skipper of Bloomfield College softball. Corley returns after posting the Bears seventh consecutive season with 20 or more wins and adding her own stamp on the program, after leading the Bloomfield squad to within one game of the 2016 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship Final. Ashton's, 25-23 Cinderella playoff year included a 1-0 extra-inning victory over top seeded and regionally ranked, Caldwell University.

In 2014 and 2015, Corley designed and implemented a year-long strength and conditioning program that helped the softball team experience no games lost due to muscle injuries.

Corley is a native of Escondido, California and has nearly 20 years of softball playing and coaching experience.  She comes to New Jersey from the highly-competitive Southern California region where she played on some of the top travel teams in the country, including the San Diego Breakers 18u Gold team.  After graduating from San Pasqual High School where she was an award-winning player, Corley earned a four-year softball scholarship for Division II Bloomfield College in New Jersey.  Corley was one of the top players in Bloomfield College’s history, earning numerous athletic and academic awards over her career.

Corley is the only Bloomfield College outfielder to earn All-Region honors and was also an All-CACC player multiple years.  Her 198 career hits ranks second all-time at the school and she finished her career with a .349 average and 45 extra base hits.  Corley struck out just 34 times over 560 at bats, rating as one of the top 100 toughest players to strike out in the NCAA in each of her four seasons.  She also drove in 79 runs in her four-year career despite batting either first or second in the lineup most of the time.  Corley was a four-time NFCA Academic All-American and an All-CACC Academic Team member every year she was eligible.  She also received the NCAA Division II Athletics Director Association Award in every season she was eligible.  Corley graduated from Bloomfield with honors with a degree in Psychology and served as the college’s Class President during the 2012-2013 school year.  Corley received a Master's Degree in Psychological Studies at Seton Hall University in 2015 and served as a hitting instructor at All Starz Softball and Baseball Instruction in Lodi.
