The men's tennis team fell to 0-5 on the season Thursday afternoon, as they dropped a 9-0 home decision to CACC rival Chestnut Hill College at Brookdale Park.
In doubles play, the pairing of
Daniel Petner and
Andres DeCastro fell in first doubles by a margin of 8-1.
Jamal Loper and
Jolston Wattley couldn't draw the Deacons even in second doubles, falling 8-2, and
Terry Gibbs and
Evan McCall couldn't get Bloomfield in the win column in third doubles, falling 8-0 to give the Griffins a sweep of the three doubles clashes.
In singles action, Petner fell to Joe Boyle in first singles 6-2, 6-1, and DeCastro wasn't able to solve Pat Joson in the next match, dropping a 6-0, 6-2 decision. Loper followed in third singles, but couldn't get the Deacons a victory, falling 6-1, 6-2, and Wattley was topped by David Negron 6-0, 6-0 in fourth singles.
Luis Perez dropped a straight-set decision to John Reading in fifth singles, falling 6-0, 6-0, and
Carlos Brufau fell to Adrion Avena in sixth singles 6-0, 6-0.
The team returns to action Tuesday, April 6, with a road match against Post University. Start time is set for 4:00 PM.
