BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College men's soccer team fell to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play Saturday afternoon, as they dropped a 1-0 home decision to CACC rival Holy Family University in the club's first home match of the 2013 season at Foley Field.
After a scoreless first half, the visiting Tigers would break through with the first strike of the afternoon, as
Christopher Tracy (Abington, Pa.) finished a scrum in front of the Bloomfield net with an unassisted tally in the 72nd minute to put Holy Family up 1-0. The Deacons would total 19 shots on the afternoon, but would prove unable to net the equalizer, as the Tigers would hold on to preserve the one-goal victory and drop the Deacons to .500 in conference play at 1-1 on the season.
Senior forward
Morgan Lebeurre (Gien, France) led the offensive effort for Bloomfield with five shots on the afternoon, while sophomore
Marin Jonjic (Podstrana, Croatia) totaled three shots in the loss. Rookie keeper
Arthur Clapot (Annecy, France) made four saves in the setback.
Bloomfield returns to action Sept. 24, when they welcome non-conference opponent Mercy College to Foley Field for a midweek match. Kickoff for the contest is scheduled for 7 p.m.
