BEARS SET FOR THEIR 8TH STRAIGHT CACC TOURNAMENT APPEARANCE

BLOOMFIELD, N.J. - The Bloomfield College men's basketball team, seeded fourth in the North Division, will take to the road to face the Devils of USciences in the quarterfinals of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2:00 p.m. in Philadelphia, Pa. The Bears (11-15 overall) dropped from second place to fourth in the CACC North Division with a conference record of 10-9, after losing their last three regular season games.
 
This is the eighth consecutive year that the Bears will play in the CACC Tournament. Last season Bloomfield was eliminated by Holy Family in the conference tournament semi-final round, 62-51 in Caldwell, N.J. The Bears season still continued after recieving an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament where they upset the University of New Haven 59-57 in the opening round before falling to the Hawks of Saint Anselm, 82-68 to end their 2013-2014 campaign.
 
The Devils (23-4 overall) enter the CACC Tournament as the top seed in the South after finishing 17-2 in league action. The Bears dropped a 90-75 decision to USciences in Philadelphia about a week ago on Feb. 21st. The Devils enter the quartefinals with the CACC Player of the Year (Garrett Kerr), the CACC Coach of the Year (David Pauley) and winners of the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award.
 
The quarterfinal winners will meet in the semifinals on Friday, Mar. 6 at Philadelphia University. The highest remaining seed will play at 5:00 p.m., with the second semifinal beginning at 7:00 p.m. The championship game is Saturday, Mar. 7 at 7:00 p.m., also at Philadelphia, which serves as the host for both the men's and women's conference tournaments this year. The CACC Tournament champion receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament.
