FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Bloomfield College men's tennis team dropped their season opener to the Knights of Queens College on Wednesday afternoon with an 8-1 loss at the tennis bubble in Flushing. The Bears lost two of three doubles matches and were swept 5-0 in the singles matches.

Bloomfield picked up their lone point of the day in first doubles with the team of
Thulani Hove and
Vadim Kustov picking up an 8-6 win.
Nikola Seles and
Shimarhi Shuler fell at second position, 0-8. Â The pairing of
Arthur Clapot and
Adam Carter also fell by the same, 0-8 mark. Â

In singles Kustov made his season debut for the Bears in the first-spot, splitting two sets 1-6, 7-6 and forcing a tiebreaker set that he dropped 8-6. Hove lost a hard-fought match at second singles, 4-6, 6-4, 4-10. Seles, playing at third singles, dropped a 0-6, 1-6 contest while Carter fell in his match at fourth singles, 0-6 and 1-6. Schuler and Clapot fell in the fifth and sixth slots respectively by the same six love and six love score. Â

The Bloomfield College men's tennis team returns to action on Friday, March 20, when they travel to Bronxville to face Concordia College. The match is set to get underway at 3:00 PM.
