FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Bloomfield College men's tennis team dropped their season opener to the Knights of Queens College on Wednesday afternoon with an 8-1 loss at the tennis bubble in Flushing. The Bears lost two of three doubles matches and were swept 5-0 in the singles matches.
 
Bloomfield picked up their lone point of the day in first doubles with the team of 
Thulani Hove and 
Vadim Kustov picking up an 8-6 win. 
Nikola Seles and 
Shimarhi Shuler fell at second position, 0-8.  The pairing of 
Arthur Clapot and 
Adam Carter also fell by the same, 0-8 mark.  
 
In singles Kustov made his season debut for the Bears in the first-spot, splitting two sets 1-6, 7-6 and forcing a tiebreaker set that he dropped 8-6. Hove lost a hard-fought match at second singles, 4-6, 6-4, 4-10. Seles, playing at third singles, dropped a 0-6, 1-6 contest while Carter fell in his match at fourth singles, 0-6 and 1-6. Schuler and Clapot fell in the fifth and sixth slots respectively by the same six love and six love score.  
 
The Bloomfield College men's tennis team returns to action on Friday, March 20, when they travel to Bronxville to face Concordia College. The match is set to get underway at 3:00 PM.
