PHILADELPHIA, P.A.-The Bloomfield College men's tennis team suffered their second consecutive defeat of the season on Tuesday afternoon with an 8-1 loss down in the City of Brotherly Love to Philadelphia University. The Bears were beaten 5-1 in singles competition and were swept 3-0 in doubles play.
 
Thulani Hove (Highland, N.J.) picked up Bloomfield's only victory of the day by defeating the Rams, Juan Velosa 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 in a singles competition.
 
Vadim Kustov (Krasnodar, Russia) suffered a 6-3, 6-1 loss in the first spot of the day followed by 
Ville Heikkilae's (Lohja, Finland) 6-1, 6-2 loss. 
Adam Carter (Somerdale, N.J.) was defeated 6-0, 6-0 in the fourth spot. 
Nikola Seles (Belgrade, Serbia) and Shimari Shuler (Browns Mills, N.J.) were both defeated in the final two spots. Seles lost his match 6-1, 6-3 while Shuler was defeated by a score of 6-0, 6-1.
 
The tandems of Hove/Kustov, Heikkilae/Seles and Carter/Shuler were all unable to bring home a victory in doubles play.
 
With the victory Philadelphia University improves to 7-6 overall and 2-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
 
The Bears (0-2, 0-1 CACC) will return to action Wednesday, March 25
th as they welcome West Chester University of Pennsylvania to Brookdale Park. The match is set to get underway at 3 p.m.
