WEST CALDWELL, N.J. - Freshman
Ville Heikkilae (Lohja, Finland) won his singles and doubles competition, but the Bloomfield College men's tennis team dropped a close 5-4 decision to USciences on Saturday evening at the Tiger Tennis and Fitness Club.
The Bears drop to 1-3 on the season and 0-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play, while the Devils improve to 1-7 and 1-1 in conference action.
Tanner Kerr defeated
Shimarhi Shuler (Riverside, Calif.), 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
Sophomores
Vadim Kustov (Krasnodar, Russia) and
Thulani Hove (Highland Park, N.J.) earned Bloomfield a point at #1 doubles but while Hove won his #2 singles match (6-0, 6-2), Kustov dropped his match at #1, 2-6, 6-4 (10-8).
The Bears return to action Tuesday, March 31 at 3:00 p.m. when they host Chestnut Hill College in a CACC match.
