SPARKHILL, N.Y. – Anthony Lantigua (Bellville, N.J.) and Brandon Morales (Hialeah, F.L.) both belted their first career homeruns in a 9-2 loss against St. Thomas Aquinas College to mark the Bears fourth straight loss in four days Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Spartans got to Bloomfield's starter Lucas Junger (Waretown, N.J.) early taking a 3-0 lead after two. Lantigua's mammoth shot to left in the top of the third cut that deficit to 3-1. The freshman's homer cleared the left field seats completely, bouncing off the walkway and out of the stadium.
 
Junger pitched two shutout innings before allowing STAC extended their lead again in the fifth to 5-1. The Spartan lead ballooned to 9-1 in the sixth before Junger was taken out of the game. Senior, Kyle Murzyn (Glassboro, N.J.) came into the game with one out in the sixth and got two quick outs. Ellis Sanchez (Kearny, N.J.) relieved Murzyn and pitched a 1-2-3 eighth.
 
Bloomfield made things a little interesting in the ninth. Morales came up with one out and homered to right making it 9-2. Juan Reina (Paterson, N.J.) walked, followed by a single up the middle by Juan Hilario (Bronx, N.Y.). Harry Montero (Millville, N.J.) reached on an error and the bases were loaded. Unfortunately the Bears were unable to capitalize, leaving the bases loaded to end the game.
 
Bloomfield gets right back to it as they host Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) rival Caldwell College for a double-header at Yogi Berra Stadium in Montclair Thursday afternoon.
