ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – The Bears women's basketball team went on the road and dropped a 65-62 decision to Molloy College Wednesday evening. The Bloomfield College senior back court of
Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) and
Morgan Taylor (Paterson, N.J.) both shot 50 percent from the field in the first half but the Lions used a 16-8 push in the third quarter and held on down the stretch for the regional win.

How It Happened
- Molloy edged out the Bears in the first quarter 16-15 as the game opened up with four personal fouls before the first basket was scored
- The Bears settled in during the second quarter and Taylor went 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. The Lions tied the score on a last second bucket that sent the teams to the locker room tied at 36-36.
- The third quarter belonged to the home team who seized an 8-point advantage after coming out of the break.
- Bloomfield's leading scorer from their season opener, Zhane Robinson (Newark, N.J.) fouled out with over five minutes left to play in the final quarter
- Molloy lead by as many as eleven (58-47) in the fourth but Bloomfield clawed all the way back to within one (61-60) as 2:20 showed on the clock
- Aliyah McDonald sank two free throws over the final 2:20 to ice the game for the Lions as the Bears missed several opportunities to tie and even win the match during the final ticks on the clock
Up Next: Bloomfield travels to the DMV area for a showdown against the Bulldogs of Bowie State University on Saturday afternoon. The 2:00 p.m. tip-off will be the teams' second meeting in as many years with the Bears handing the CIAA squad a, 64-53 loss a year ago at the Bloomfield Gym.
