BLOOMFIELD, N.J. – The Bloomfield College women's basketball team returned to the friendly confines of The Den Tuesday evening and picked up an, 82-52 victory over the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) South Division's Wilmington Wildcats. The Bears bounced back in the win column as the dynamic duo of junior, Zhane Robinson (Newark, N.J.) and senior Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.), who each poured in 27 points on 10 shots from the field, and fueled Bloomfield's third-highest point total of the 2016-2017 campaign. Robinson broke thru with her fifth double-double of the year as she recorded a career-high 18 boards on the evening.

How It Happened

• The Wildcats came out up for the challenge in the first quarter and clawed their way thru the opening period after trailing by as-many-as seven (16-9) and headed into the second stanza down, 18-14
• The Bears inside/outside tandem where relentless with Smith and Robinson accounting for 42 of Bloomfield's 44 halftime points and helped to distance the home team from the Wildcats 44-27 going into the break
• Bloomfield used a, 26-13 2^nd quarter to provide some distance from Wilmington and that margin grew after a, 24-10 3^rd quarter performance. Smith and Robinson only scored five and seven points respectively across the final two quarters but the damaged had been done with Wilmington finishing up with a 29.7 shooting percentage for the
• Jahniece Jaffe (Egg Harbor, N.J.) drained three-buckets from long range, and scored all 9 of her total points in final two periods of the game
• Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, M.D.) had a solid day at the office, coming off the bench to add six points and six rebounds to the Bears victory

 
Up Next: Bloomfield will take their winning ways on the road to face off in Philadelphia with the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College on Saturday. The CACC inter-division match up is set for a 1:00 pm tip-off.
