BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The women's soccer team rolled past Dominican College, 1-0 on Wednesday as the program celebrated Senior Night.
Simone McEnough (Neptune, NJ),
Nicole McWilliams (Staten Island, NY) and
Stephanie Rivera (Brooklyn, NY) were all honored in a pre-game ceremony at Foley Field.
Bloomfield also took the time to honor four seniors from Dominican College (2-12, 2-9 CACC) during pre-game but once the whistle sound to start the game, all the pleasantries were over and the Bears wasted no time netting the decisive goal.
Lisa Parello (Staten Island, NY) corralled a ball that deflected of the Chargers goalie and the co-captain calmly drove a shot into the empty net with just 17 tics off the clock.
The 1-0 advantage would stand the entire game as the Bloomfield College (5-9, 3-8 CACC) defense held firm with
Emira Sela (Staten Island, NY) in goal and picked up her second win of the season. Sela was injured on a collision inside the box in the 83
rd minute of the second half and freshman,
Alison Corino (Brick, NJ) stepped in and finished up the shutout for the Bears.
Next up, Bloomfield will play their final home game at Foley Field on Saturday when non-conference foe, Daemen College comes for a 1:30 pm contest. The Bears still hold a mathematical shot at postseason play but will have to win in their season finale at Post University on Tuesday and have some help to get in.
