How It Happened
• Clippers opened up the game with a three-pointer and halfway thru the 1st quarter they enjoyed a 12-8 lead on the Bears. The home team advantage grew to seven (17-10) before Bloomfield reeled off a 10-2 spurt and claimed a 20-19 lead heading into the second period
• Concordia began the 2nd quarter the same as they did the 1st and edged in front of the visitors, 22-20. Both teams scored 13 points the rest of the way and the Bears found themselves down 35-33 at the halftime break
• Smith had 12 points heading into the locker room and Robinson added 7 points along with 6 rebounds but the tandem would need some support if the Bears were going to pick up their 11th-straight league win
• Bloomfield came out of the locker room more focused and battled in the 3rd quarter to a 48-44 advantage.
Morgan Taylor (Paterson, N.J.) finished the frame with 10 points and the visitors were poised for a strong final period
• The Bears came out blazing in the 4th quarter and an 8-2 spurt extended to a 10-point margin (56-46) but the home squad still had fight left and closed the gap to 62-60 with three minutes left in the ball game. A technical foul gave the Clippers another point and a fast break layup gave them the lead with under a minute to play but it was not meant to be as Taylor sank free throws to seal the CACC North Division thriller
Up Next: Bloomfield returns home with a chance to capture the CACC North Division regular season championship as the Cougars of Caldwell University visit the Den on Saturday. The Bears will also celebrate Senior Day as they go for their fourth consecutive regular-season title when they tip-off at 1:00 pm.
