CALDWELL, N.J. –The Bloomfield College women's basketball team saw their post-season run come to an end by the hands of USciences Saturday evening, 68-49 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament semifinal. The lop-sided loss cut the Bears hopes of a CACC Championship short.

How It Happened
  • USciences began the game with five straight points as the teams played sloppy during their first few possessions. Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, N.V.) buried the Bears first bucket but the South Division's top team stretched to an 11-3 advantage in the 1st quarter. The Devils extended to a nine-point lead (16-7) by the end of the period
  • The Bloomfield offense seemed out of sync and USciences capitalized with the first two buckets of the 2nd quarter.  Zhane Robinson (Newark, N.J.) ended the Bears drought with a jumper in the lane, but points were still hard to come by and the North Division team fell behind 24-12 with 4:46 until the half
  • The Bears mounted a 5-0 streak off of a timeout but the Devils countered with six to hold Bloomfield in check. USciences enjoyed a 30-17 lead with the teams heading to the locker rooms
  • The first two quarters of play featured a combined, 26 turnovers and the Bears shot just 28.0 percent (7-for-25) from the field. Neither team had a double-figure scorer at the break and Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, M.D.) led Bloomfield with 6 points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor
  • The 3rd quarter brought no relief to the Bears troubles with the Devils extending to their largest lead, 53-29. Bloomfield went into the final period down by twenty (53-33) as USciences milked every possession
  •  The 4th quarter was a formality as the Bears finished the night with one of their lowest scoring output of the season. Senior guard, Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) finished up her storied career at Bloomfield with 5 points for the night. Jahniece Jaffe (Egg Harbor, N.J.) came off the bench and knocked in 12 points
