LAKEWOOD, N.J. – In front of a capacity crowd for Georgian Court University's (GCU) Homecoming, the Bears women's soccer team narrowly dropped a, 1-0 match Saturday afternoon to one of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) top teams. The setback left Bloomfield with a 3-6 overall mark and 1-5 in league play while the Lions improved to 7-3-2 on the year and a, 6-0 conference record.
 
The teams were tied, 0-0 at half time as a crowd of 350 watched GCU fire off fourteen shots in comparison to the Bears' four at the break. Jessica Larson (Delran, NJ) played a tremendous game anchoring Bloomfield's defense as the keeper faced 11 shots on goal for the day and picked up 10 saves.
 
In the 64^th minute of the second half the Lions, Anissia Fucci belted a one-timer past Larson for her ninth goal of the season on a cross from Erin Wimmer. That proved to be the only goal of the day as the Bears offense struggled and never fired a shot in the second half.
 
After a second straight shutout, Bloomfield will look to make some changes on offense when they return to the friendly confines of Foley Field for their next battle on Wednesday evening verses Felician University. The Bears still have a chance to make the playoffs this season if they can find some goals and wins against their next five CACC opponents. The match against the Golden Falcons is set for 7:00 pm under the lights.
