MEN'S SOCCER SAILS PAST CLIPPERS IN ELECTRIFYING, 4-3 DOUBLE OVERTIME VICTORY AT FOLEY

BLOOMFIELD, NJ– In an electrifying double-overtime game under the lights of Foley Field, the Bears men's soccer team captured their fourth consecutive home win with a 4-3 victory over Concordia College. A 'Golden Goal' off the foot of senior, Arman Bashiri (Lovenstad, Norway) in the 105th minute of play pushed the home team's record to 5-8 overall and more importantly, 4-6 in league play keeping their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) post-season hopes alive.

The high intensity game saw five goals within the first fifteen minutes of play with the visiting Clippers (5-6-1, 5-4) enjoying a slim 3-2 advantage heading into the halftime break. Bloomfield team captains Adrian Smart (Mandeville, Jamaica) and Bryan Medina (Dover, NJ) got together for the Bears first score of the day as Smart fed Medina for a blast from the 18 yard line that found the back of the net in the 7th minute. Medina later fed defender, Toheeb Shodimu (Lagos, Nigeria) on a corner kick for the senior's first goal of the year.

Bloomfield searched most of the second half for the equalizer goal but at the 69:05 mark finally found what they sought when Regsan Watkins (Cape Town, South Africa) drilled a ball past the Clippers keeper off a ball from Dauda Kenneh (Bronx, NY) in the box. That set the stage for Bashiri's game winner and the Bears celebration of another home victory at Foley Field.

Next up, Bloomfield rolls out the welcome mat for their final non-conference opponent of the year when Salem University visits on Saturday. The Bears will celebrate Senior Day as the honor the programs seven seniors before the 1:30 pm first touch at Foley.
