SPARKILL, NY – The Bears women's soccer team dropped a heart-breaker in their final non-conference match of the season Saturday as Saint Thomas Aquinas College (STAC) prevailed, 1-0 in overtime. The loss on the road dropped Bloomfield to 2-13-1 for the year and the Spartans improved to 7-6-1 with the home win.
The teams battled in regulation to a scoreless tie with STAC holding a slight 12-9 advantage in shots taken. It took the home team less than two minutes in the extra period to end the game with a ball past the Bears goalkeeper,
Emira Sela (Staten Island, NY) who made four saves on the day. Sela fell to 2-6 after the setback on the road.
Bloomfield will close out their season on the road Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Dominican College. The final conference match up of the year is set for a 3:30 pm first touch on the Chargers home field.
