SPRINGFIELD, MASS.– The Bears women's basketball team dropped their second straight game at the AIC Holiday Tournament on Sunday to the College of Saint Rose. The Golden Knights handed Bloomfield a, 72-59 setback in regional action at Henry A. Butova Gymnasium.
Saint Rose opened up the game with a, 26-11 1
stquarter and never looked en route to their seventh win of the season, pushing their overall mark to 7-4. The Bears (1-8) actually gained some ground with a, 13-12 2
nd frame as freshman,
Caitlin Townes (Newark, NJ) poured in 9 points to lead the team into the locker room.
Townes finished the day with 16 points while senior,
Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) added in 11 points and 5 rebounds to round out Bloomfield's double-digit scorers.
Jaylah Bennett (Newark, NJ) chipped in 8 points, which included going 6-of-6 from the line.
The Bears return home to face Nyack College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) mid-week showdown. The Warriors will step into The Den Wednesday, December 19 for a 5:30 pm tip off.
