BRONXVILLE, NY – Bloomfield College traveled to face Concordia College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) baseball action Wednesday afternoon and were swept by the Clippers in two hotly contested games. The Bears dropped to 5-7-1 in 2018 and 0-2 in their first conference matchups of the season.

st inning. In Game 1, Mike Hildalgo (Clifton, NJ) (L, 0-2) got the start, going 6 innings and surrendering the game's 4 runs, all earned, on 6 hits with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks.
Kevin Mojica (West New York, NJ) and
Anthony Elefante (Forked River, NJ) came out of the pen and kept Concordia off the scoreboard in an inning of work each but Bloomfield couldn't drive across any run support after their starter had retired to the bench.
Senior,

Jason Holguin (Lakewood, NJ) and
Jhoan Rodriguez (Santa Domingo, DR) each added a double for the Bears.
Game 2 starting duties went to Bloomfield's leader, senior
Steven Acosta (Lakewood, NJ) (L, 3-1) who saw his undefeated record come to an end after giving up 4 runs, 3 earned, in three innings of work.
Anthony Maldonado (Newark, NJ) came in and pitched 3 innings, giving up just two hits but what proved to be the winning run in the 6
th inning for the Clippers as the Bears mounted a last-ditched effort that fell short in the top of the final frame.
Senior,
Juan Reina (Paterson, NJ) belted the first homerun of his senior campaign in the last inning that pulled Bloomfield to within, 5-4 but Concordia closed the door with a strikeout as the Bears were threatening with runners on second and third.

Game time has been adjusted to 2:00 pm against the Yellow Jackets. The Bears will stay on the road for a Saturday showdown with Goldey-Beacom College at 12:00 and 3:00 pm before suiting up for their home-opener on Tuesday against Dominican College.
