ROOKIE RUNNER LEADS BEARS AT PHILADELPHIA METRO INVITATIONAL

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Freshman, Manuela Caraballo (Passaic, NJ) in her first collegiate race as a Bear, led the way for the women's cross country team and placed 16that the Philadelphia Metro Invitational Saturday afternoon. The rookie runner helped Bloomfield finish 7thoverall as a team and ran a time of 21:35.6.
 
Team captain, Vanessa Felice (North Bergen, NJ) finished 18th overall and second for Bloomfield with a time of 21:48.0. Sophomore Olivia Randolph (Teaneck, NJ) placed 31stat the Invitational in a time of 22.27.5 while junior, Jazmine Wiggs (Bowie, MD) improved her personal best with a time of 24:42.3 and crossed the finished line fourth for the Bears. Felicia Haidara (Bowie, MD) rounded out the Bloomfield women's team scoring runners with a 72ndplace finish in a time of 25:40.3 and Monica Dunkerson (Willingboro, NJ) came in 88thwith a 30:49.1 time.  
 
Bloomfield will be back on the course when they travel to the 'Boogie Down' Bronx to compete in the Brother John Paddy Doyle Meet of Champions on Saturday, Sept. 14th. The meet hosted by Iona College will be run at Van Cortlandt Park at 10:45 am.
