NYACK, NY– The Bloomfield College men's basketball team hit the road to square off with Nyack College Wednesday night in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play and came away with a, 95-79 win. The Bears used a strong surge in the 2
ndhalf to drive them to their fifth consecutive win, improving to 14-9 overall and 12-2 in league action. The Warriors fell to 3-11 in conference match ups, with a 4-18 mark after the setback in Bowman Gym.
The home team jumped out front early as the crowd cheered the squad to a, 20-12 advantage over the Bears. A Nyack dunk after a Bloomfield turnover quickly prompted a timeout from the visitors. The Bears steady the attack and found themselves only down one (46-45) heading into the intermission break. Senior guard,
Keith Washington (Philadelphia, PA) found the Bowman nets favorable as he stroked them for 14 first half points, including 4-of-7 from beyond three-point range.
The visitors quelled the crowd early in the 2
ndhalf, reeling off an 11-5 run that drew a Warrior timeout. After taking the lead, Bloomfield never relinquished it the rest of the way and with the conference win, clinched their 12
thconsecutive post-season birth.
Washington finished his day with a game-high 30 points. Classmate,
Kavione Green (Amityville, NY) had a monster night on the boards snagging 19 to go along with 13 points for his team-leading 9
thdouble-double. The CACC and Metropolitan Writer's Association D2 Player of the Week,
Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ) had a modest night with 13 points while
