BLOOMFIELD, NJ - Bloomfield College senior guard
Keith Washington on Tuesday was named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II-III Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the organization. He garnered the honor due to his stellar play in a pair of victories last week for the Bears.
For the week, Washington averaged 37.5 points per game, including a 45-point effort in Saturday's victory over Wilmington. The 45 points were tied for the fifth most in a single game in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) history. Earlier in the week, Washington dropped in 30 in a win over Nyack. His points on a combined 49 percent shooting (26-of-53), including a 14-of-29 effort (49%) from behind the arc.
Washington also dished out 6.5 assists per game, while pulling down 5.0 rebounds an outing, as his all-around week was rounded out in fine fashion. It marked the second-consecutive day Washington earned an award for his outstanding play, as on Monday he was named the CACC Player of the Week.
