WATERBURY, CONN– The Bears women's basketball team took to the road Wednesday evening for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match at The Drubner Center and suffered a, 60-47 setback to Post University. The Eagles moved to 13-13 overall with the win and pushed their league mark to 9-9 as they jockey for post-season position with one game to go in the regular season.
Bloomfield (5-21, 4-13 CACC) fell behind early as the Eagles climbed to a 15-7 lead after the first quarter of play. The visitors fell further behind after the 2
ndperiod and headed into the locker room down, 36-23. The Bears posted a 14-15 score in the 3
rdquarter but Post was too strong down the stretch to capture their ninth conference victory.
Senior,
Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds for the game. McKenzie was the lone Bloomfield player in double-figures but freshman
Caitlin Townes (Newark, NJ) chipped in 9 points on 3-of-7 shooting from three-point range.
The Bears will close out the 2018-19 campaign on Saturday, March 2 when they host Caldwell University. The Cougars enter 'The Den' for a scheduled, 1:00 pm tip-off.
