PHILADELPHIA, PA– The Bears women's basketball team took to the road for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) inter-divisional match up Saturday afternoon and suffered a, 79-44 decision to Holy Family University. The Tigers were firing on all cylinders from the onset and improved to 7-14 overall with a, 5-8 league record.
Bloomfield (5-17, 4-9) struggled to find an offensive groove all day, and started the game with an 11-point 1
st quarter as the home team posted 25 points. The deficit grew larger by halftime with the visitors scoring only 9 points in the 2
nd frame and went into the break, behind, 46-20. Holy Family out-scored the Bears in every quarter to secure their 5
th conference win.
Freshman guard,
Caitlin Townes (Newark, NJ) had a team-high 12 points for Bloomfield while senior,
Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, MD) knocked in 10 points. Freshman forward,
Siani Smith (Burlington, NJ) grabbed a career-high, 11 rebounds for the visiting team to go-along with 7 points.
After dropping their second straight CACC contest, Bloomfield will next head up to Nyack, NY to face the Warriors on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The pre-Valentine's Day showdown is set for a 5:30 pm tip-off at the Bowman Gymnasium.
