BEARS FALL TO DOMINICAN, 70-55 IN CACC CHAMPIONSHIP FINALE

CALDWELL, NJ– The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament Championship game came down to two North Division teams and the top-seeded Bears fell, 70-55 to the second-seeded Dominican College Chargers. The Sunday afternoon thriller played on Mark A. Corino Court saw Bloomfield's lowest offensive output for the year and left the team at 21-10 on the season.

The Bears scored just 11 points across the opening 10 minutes of play and then went cold during the next five minutes as Dominican (23-7) galloped out to a, 25-11 lead. The Chargers settled on a, 34-21 advantage at the intermission and held the league's top-team to 24.2 percent (8-of-33) from the field. Senior guard, Keith Washington (Philadelphia, PA) toted the scoring load with 10 points in the first half.

The 2ndhalf went the Chargers way as they matched the Bears basket-for-basket and kept Bloomfield at a double-digit deficit for the entire period. Washington finished the championship game with 23 points and was joined in double figures by sophomore forward, Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ). Chapman registered a double-double with 12 rebounds to go alongside 11 points.

The Bears Nation will now sit and wait to see if their slim hopes of an at-large bid in the upcoming NCAA Tournament can be realized. The NCAA Division II Selection Show will be held tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET. and can be seen by clicking HERE.
