CALDWELL, NJ– The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament Championship game came down to two North Division teams and the top-seeded Bears fell, 70-55 to the second-seeded Dominican College Chargers. The Sunday afternoon thriller played on Mark A. Corino Court saw Bloomfield's lowest offensive output for the year and left the team at 21-10 on the season.
The Bears scored just 11 points across the opening 10 minutes of play and then went cold during the next five minutes as Dominican (23-7) galloped out to a, 25-11 lead. The Chargers settled on a, 34-21 advantage at the intermission and held the league's top-team to 24.2 percent (8-of-33) from the field. Senior guard,
Keith Washington (Philadelphia, PA) toted the scoring load with 10 points in the first half.
The 2
ndhalf went the Chargers way as they matched the Bears basket-for-basket and kept Bloomfield at a double-digit deficit for the entire period. Washington finished the championship game with 23 points and was joined in double figures by sophomore forward,
Rich Chapman (Newark, NJ). Chapman registered a double-double with 12 rebounds to go alongside 11 points.
