BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield College men's soccer team earned their first win of the 2019 season Wednesday night in a, 4-0 decision against Bloomsburg University. The Bears improved to 1-2 on the pitch after the non-conference victory and dropped the Huskies to 1-2 on the year.
Bloomfield scored two goals in each half of the contest under the lights at Foley Field. Senior forward,
Warwick Stirling (Lauderhill, FL) had a stellar day, assisting on the first two goals of the game and then scoring one of his own in the second half. Classmate,
Jeremy Mpouma (Paris, France) benefited from Stirling's first dish off a corner kick to bury his first goal of the year in the back of the net. Junior transfer, Quincy Ball (Rotterdam, Netherlands) took advantage of the senior's second assist and scored his first goal as a Bear in the 30th minute of play.
Sophomore keeper,
Robert Kornel (Berlin, Germany) registered his first career shutout, keeping the Huskies off the scoreboard in 82 minutes of work. Junior mid-fielder,
Joseph Vazquez (Guayama, Puerto Rico) ended the scoring on the day after Stirling's goal in the 58th minute with a blast past the Bloomsburg goalie during the 70th minute.
Bloomfield returns to action on Saturday, September 15th with a non-conference battle against Molloy College. The Lions enter Foley Field for a 3:30 pm scheduled first touch.
