BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield College men's soccer team secured their first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference(CACC) win Saturday afternoon in a, 2-1 decision over Holy Family University. The Bears improved to 2-4 with the victory at Foley Field and pushed their league record even at 1-1while the Tigers dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The game was decided in the first half as two goals from
Quincy Baal (Rotterdam, Netherlands) gave Bloomfield an advantage at intermission that they never relinquished. Baal notched his third goal of the season in the 24th minute of play but the Tigers quickly answered to knot the score at 1-1. Baal netted the game winning goal in the 41st minute and put the home team in front for good.
Freshman
Jomar Vizcaino (New Brunswick, NJ) recorded his first win in a Bear uniform going the distance in goal with three saves on the day.
Bloomfield's next match up will come on Wednesday, October 2nd when they hit the road to face Post University. The CACC showdown in Waturbury is set for a 3:00 pm start.
