BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The women's basketball team dropped their tenth straight game Tuesday evening in a 75-58 decision to Concordia College. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) north division setback left Bloomfield with a 4-18 overall mark and at 3-10 in conference play. The Clippers, moved to a game out of the 4th spot in the north division with a 4-8 league record and 5-16 overall.
The Bears offense saw sophomore, Caitlin Townes (Newark, NJ) and freshmen, Kayla Sykes (Egg Harbor TWP, NJ) combine for 26 points while Jaylah Bennett (Newark, NJ) snagged a team-high 9 rebounds to go along with 5 points.
Bloomfield went into the locker room after two quarters of play down by three (36-33) and stayed within striking distance to start the third quarter. The Clippers sailed out in front with a 22-9 fourth quarter that put the game out of reach as the home team's offense converted only 4 buckets.
The Bears return to action on Saturday for another CACC test in The Den when the Lions of Georgian Court University come to town. The February 8th showdown is scheduled to tip-off at 1:00 pm and will serve as Bloomfield's Mental Health Awareness Game.
