BLOOMFIELD, NJ. – The Bears men's soccer team celebrated 'Senior Day' with a, 3-0 shutout victory over Goldey-Beacom College Saturday afternoon. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win stopped a five-game slide and kept Bloomfield's playoff hopes alive as they moved to 5-10 overall and 4-6 in league play. The visiting team fell to 3-12 on the year and 1-8 in conference play after their setback on Foley Field.
The day started off festive with Bloomfield honoring the seniors from both teams in a pre-game ceremony. When the action got under way, the Bears seniors played a role in all facets of the game leading to the decisive decision on the field. Senior forward,
Isaac Levi Rodrigues (Fortaleza, Brazil) assisted on the game's first score, leaving a ball for
Yefry Rodriguez (New Brunswick, NJ) which he netted past the Goldey-Beacom keeper at the 4:40 minute mark. Next, senior
Allan Marquez (Honduras) left a delightful ball that he got from fellow senior, Quincy Ball (Rotterdam, Netherlands) for
Ajoma Smith (New York, NY) who promptly buried the ball in the middle of the net for a, 2-0 in the 2nd half. Smith later returned the favor in the 72nd minute of play when he delivered a pass to Marquez and the senior took advantage and scored his first goal of the season.

Robert Kornel (Berlin, Germany) had a masterful game as he made four saves in 90 minutes of work and recorded his second clean sheet of the year.
Bloomfield holds their playoff destiny in their own hands after the Saturday decision and will return to the field on Tuesday, November 2nd to face Nyack College. The Bears currently hold the 8th and final CACC playoff spot and a win against the Warriors will mark their return to postseason play for the first time since 2017. The pivotal match-up is slated for a 12:00 noon start time at Laurel Hill Park in Secaucus, NJ.
