BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bears women's basketball team used a 24-point fourth quarter to come-from-behind and defeat the visiting Firebirds from The University of the District of Columbia (UDC), 63-61. The Monday night thriller improved the Bloomfield College record to 1-4 as the Firebirds dropped to 3-3 after the setback on the road.
DaShanique Ruffin (Paterson, NJ) had a monster performance, leading the home team with an 19-point, 18-rebound double-double night.
Jaylah Bennett (Newark, NJ) chipped in 10 points in her starter role while
Kamrin Babbs (Newark, NJ) snagged 8 rebounds and added 10 points off the bench to help aid the 4th quarter comeback.
The Bears open up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play in their next outing as they travel down the road to face Felician University on Wednesday. The league match up is slated to start at 5:30 pm and can be seen on the CACC Network for a nominal fee that goes to Golden Falcons Athletics.
