BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bears softball took to the Shannon Dalton Forde Memorial Field Tuesday afternoon and earned a split against Dominican College. Bloomfield dropped Game 1, 9-2 but came roaring back for a five-inning, 8-0 win in Game 2 on the strength of 11 strikeouts from their pitching staff. In Game 1 the Chargers (9-9, 8-2 CACC) struck first in the 3rd with three runs off the Bloomfield starter,

Sierra Albritton (Westampton, NJ) went 2-for-3 in Game 1 and belted a triple in the third to drove in her first collegiate run. Albritton also scored a run in the bottom of the 6th inning that closed out the home team's scoring in the doubleheader opener.
Game 2, saw senior
Maddie Feddersen (Islip, NY) get the start in the circle and she struckout 5 of-the-first 7 batters she faced. Bloomfield capitalized on their senior's fine start with 2 runs in the first inning as Albritton came around to score after being hit by a pitch and then
Sarisha Daugherty (Chula Vista, CA) singled up the middle to drive in
Danielle Walters (Richboro, PA). The Bears opened the game up in the bottom half of the fourth when Albritton belted an in-the-park homerun down the first-base line that scored three. Daugherty singled to center and scored Walters again who had reached on a double to right field. Walters had taken over in the circle for Feddersen (1-1) in the top of the fourth and struck out three batters before closing the door on the Chargers with two more strikeouts in the fifth. Bloomfield finished off the game in the 5th after a wild pitch scored the eighth run and secured their first win over Dominican since 2018.
Albritton went 3-for-5 on the double-dip with four RBI, a triple and the in-the-park homerun. The Bears were 8-for-8 on stolen bases for the day and surrended only five walks.
