SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Matiss Zegele (Marupe, Lativa) and Robert Sparrow (Marlton, NJ) both scored their first goals as Bears but it was not enough as the Bloomfield College men's soccer team fell to American International College on Saturday. The 6-2 setback at Ronald J. Abdow Field dropped the Bears fell to 1-2 overall but the Yellow Jackets improved to, 2-0-1 on the season. 

Sparrows goal came in the 24^thminute of play after the visiting team was down 2-0. Zegele's first strike in a Bloomfield uniform came in the 2^ndhalf with his team down 5-1 at that point.
 
In goal, Robert Kornel (Berlin, Germany) saw fifteen shots during the match and saved ten before giving way to Iban Echeverria (Colegio, Urdaneta) in the 83^rdminute of the game. The sophomore keeper allowed one goal in his first appearance of the season.
 
Bloomfield will continue its road schedule with a match against Saint Thomas Aquinas College on Tuesday, September 14^th. The non-conference battle is set for a 2:30 pm kickoff on the pitch in Sparkill.
