BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College women's basketball team dropped a, 77-72 overtime thriller Thursday evening to Dominican College. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC ) setback dropped the Bears to 2-11 overall and 0-5 in league games while the Chargers improved to 7-7 overall and 2-2 in league matches.
Jasmine McDuffie (Paterson, NJ) and
Daniya Darby (Jersey City, NJ) each scored career-highs with 12 points apiece for the Bears. Darby added nine rebounds and an assist while Duffie chipped in six boards and two steals.
DaShanique Ruffin (Paterson, NJ) scored ten points and recorded nine rebounds and
Taneshia Tucker (Newark, NJ) finished with nine points, six rebounds, and five assists.
The visitors galloped out of the gate to a, 25-16 first quarter but Bloomfield clawed back to within five (38-33) by the halftime break. The home team used a 20-10 third quarter to pull in front of Dominican but the Chargers erased that deficit in the fourth to force overtime and eventually secured the road win.
The Bears will hit the road for their next three CACC games beginning Saturday against Holy Family University. Tip-Off against the Tigers in Philadelphia is scheduled for a 1:00 pm start.
