BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield College men's soccer team suffered their tenth loss of the year Tuesday afternoon when they hosted Alliance University at Foley Field. The afternoon Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle on the pitch saw the Bears fall, 5-2 as their overall record went to 1-10-4 and 1-7-2 in league play. The Warriors improved to 4-7-4 on the season overall and 4-3-3 in conference play as they are still in the playoff hunt.
Alliance scored first, netting a goal in the 40th minute of the game off junior keeper, Jomar Vizcainao (New Brunswick, NJ) and took a 1-0 lead into the 1st half break. The visitors doubled their advantage at the 59:23 minute mark before Bloomfield mounted an offensive attack that saw
Mateuz Koslowski (Madrid, Spain) score his 2nd goal of the year assisted by
Marvin Munoz (Neptune, NJ). Down 2-1, the home team thought their offense saw a spark but the flame was outed when the Warriors responded with three goals within the next five minutes.
Ajoma Smith (New York, NY) scored a late goal but the game was already in hand for the visitors and the Bears had to settle for their 2nd consecutive loss.
Next on the Bloomfield radar will be Chestnut Hill College on Saturday at 3:30 pm. The CACC contest with the Griffens is set to be played on historic Foley Field.
