BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears women's basketball team welcomed The College of Staten Island to The Den on Wednesday evening and picked up a, 65-57 win in front of the Bears Nation. The home opening win marked the Bears (1-2) first victory of the season while the Dolphins (0-3) dropped their third straight game of 2022-23.
Daniya Darby (Jersey City, NJ) recorded a team-high 17 points to go along with 9 rebounds. Junior transfer,
Saja Alston (Newark, NJ) gave the home team an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double while
Nyasia Bryant (Newark, NJ) registered 11 points and 9 boards for Bloomfield.
The Bears next contest will be on the road Saturday afternoon when they travel to Connecticut to take on The University of New Haven. The non-conference battle with the Chargers is set for a 1:30 PM start.
