BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bloomfield College women's basketball team bounced back with a, 73-55 win over visiting Nyack College Wednesday evening. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle in The Den improved the Bears overall record to 5-19 for the year and 3-13 in league action. The visiting Warriors fell to 5-16 on the season and 4-12 in conference matches.
Bloomfield's top scorer and rebounder, Dashanique Ruffin (Paterson, NJ) once again led the way with a 16-point, 13-rebound double-double night. Ruffin recorded an efficient. 7-for-9 from the floor and cashed in on 2-of-3 trips to the free throw line. Freshman guard,
Taneshia Tucker (Newark, NJ) came off the bench to ad 12 points and dished out 4 assists for the home team.
The Bears' victory was fueled by a, 16-5 second quarter which sent them into halftime up, 30-23 and they never looked back. Ruffin scored 13 of her 16 total points in the final two quarters and the home team roared to a win in front of their excited fans in The Den.
Bloomfield closes out the regular season on Saturday when they host Caldwell University for Senior Day. The program will honor five seniors before the start of the 1:00 pm scheduled tip-off. Please check bcbearsathletics.com frequently for updates.
