LITTLE FERRY, NJ – Danielle Walters (Richboro, PA) pitched a complete game and picked up her third win of the season to help the Bears split with Post University on Thursday afternoon. Bloomfield took Game 1 over the Eagles, 6-2 before dropping the second game 12-4 in 6 innings at Shannon D. Forde Memorial Field.
The Bears moved to 9-7 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after Thursday's games and 11-22 overall while Post went to 14-14 on the year with an even, 8-8 record in league matches. Walters and
Jillian Holmes (Elkton, MD) each went 2-for-3 in Game 1 at the plate. Walters scored two runs and had an RBI while Holmes had a double with 3 RBI.
In Game 2, the home team soared to a 4-1 lead after 4 innings but the Eagles regrouped and scored 11 unanswered runs in the 5

thto seize the contest and force the afternoon split.
Taylor Galyean (Cottonwood, CA) got the start in the circle and went 3 innings, allowing four hits, one run and a walk while striking out 5 but left the game without a decision. Holmes (2-6) came on in relief and took the loss after surrendering four runs (three earned) in an inning and-a-third of work. Walters finished the afternoon giving up seven runs (five earned), two walks and one striking in relief.
On the offensive side, Walters and Holmes both went 2-for-4 in Game 2 and Galyean went 2-for-2 with a double before leaving the contest.
Bloomfield is back in action Wednesday, April 20 when they travel to face Nyack College in another CACC battle. As teams try to jockey for post-season positions, each game becomes pivotal and the Bears control their own fate with a 6:00pm start against the Warriors.
