Staten Island, NY - The Bloomfield College Men's Soccer Team suffered their first loss of the season on Wednesday when they traveled to The College of Staten Island (CSI) for a non-conference match. The loss drops the Bears to 0-1-1 while the Dolphins evened up their record at 1-1.
The Bears had the first quality chance of the game in the 6th minute when Marvin Muñoz (Neptune, NJ) sent a free kick sailing just inches over the crossbar. CSI scored the game's lone goal in the twenty-seventh minute. Bloomfield made a late offensive surge but the Dolphins withstood the attack and an offsides call with under 30 seconds left to play preserved the win for the home team.
Jomar Vizcaino (New Brunswick, NJ) took the setback in goal, as he faced nine shots on the day and saved two.
The Bears will next be in action on Wednesday back in the friendly confines of Bloomfield for their home opener against The College of Saint Rose at 7:00 PM.
