BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The women's basketball team dropped a nail-biter Tuesday evening when they hosted Dominican University and suffered a, 56-55 setback. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle with the league's top-team in the North Division showed the Bears they had the talent to hang in there with the best but ultimately their record fell to 1-14 overall and 0-6 in conference.
Taneshia Tucker (Newark, NJ) came off the bench and exploded for a career and game-high 20 points for the home team, going a lights-out, 4-of-8 from three-point range.
Anisha Able (Newark, NJ) in her starting role snagged a game-high 9 boards and chipped in 5 points.
Bloomfield was up, 55-54 with less than a minute to play as they held the Chargers (10-6, 5-1 CACC) to just 11 points in each of the final two quarters. Freethrows would be the difference in the game though as the visitors sank two on separate trips to the stripe down the stretch to hand the Bears their 12
th straight loss.
The Bears hit the road for another CACC tough battle on Sunday, January 15 when they square off with the South Division's top squad, Jefferson University. The Rams host Bloomfield at 2:00 pm at the Gallagher Center in Philadelphia.
