BLOOMFIELD, NJ– The Bloomfield College men's basketball team extended to a three-game win streak Saturday afternoon with a, 83-72 win over Holy Family University. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest in The Den improved the Bears to 11-9 overall and 7-4 in league play while the Tigers dropped to 10-12 overall with a 3-8 conference record.
Bloomfield went into the halftime break up, 39-34 and ballooned their lead to sixteen (69-53) but Holy Family clawed all the way back to tie the match at 70-70 with 1:18 to play. The home team settled in and secured the conference victory down the stretch as
Izaiah Poole (Newark, NJ) drilled a three-pointer with seconds left on the clock.
Josh Morris (Ewing, NJ) led all scorers with his third straight 20-point game, netting 23.
Andres Fulgencio (Englewood, NJ) shot 50.0 percent from the floor for 22 points which included 10-for-10 from the freethrow line.
Deavion Ellis (North Bergen, NJ) added 10 points and 8 rebounds. Poole finished the day with 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
Next Saturday, February 4 Bloomfield will hit the road to square off with Wilmington University. The CACC battle with the Wildcats is set for a 3:00 pm tip-off in Delaware.
