BLOOMFIELD, NJ – An, 8-0 stretch late in the 4
thquarter brought the visiting Tigers from Holy Family all the way back against Bloomfield College but the teams needed overtime to decide the hotly contested Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle in The Den. In the extra frame, the Tigers pushed ahead and captured the 72-64 victory.
The Bears (3-17, 2-9 CACC) saw another solid game from junior transfer student,
Tiara Mahorn (Irvington, NJ) who led the team in scoring with 17 points. Freshman,
Anisha Able (Newark, NJ) posted her first double-double in a Bloomfield uniform with 10 points and 14 rebounds.
Bloomfield went 0-for-6 from the freethrow line in overtime and only scored two points in the extra period. The home team controlled most of the game, leading for 75.0 percent of the contest but Holy Family (15-7, 10-2 CACC) clawed their way back for the win.
The Bears hit the road for their next test as they head to Wilmington University on Saturday, February 4. The CACC match with the Wildcats is set for a 1:00 pm tip-off in Delaware.
