Boca Raton, FLA – The Bloomfield College baseball team opened up their Spring Florida trip at Lynn University and dropped a, 3-9 decision on Thursday afternoon. The Bears offense struckout a season-high, 17 times as their record fell to 3-6 on the year.
Lynn (9-7-1) jumped out in front with two runs in the bottom half of the first inning and never looked back.
Edwin Melendez (Manalapan, NJ) went six and-a-third innings in the loss and surrendered six runs on seven hits and struck out two.
Tyree Bradley (West Orange, NJ) hit his fourth and fifth homeruns of the season as he blasted solo shots in the 4
thand 9
th innings.
Justin Rivera (Clifton, NJ) went 3-for-3 on the day and belted his 2
nd homer of the year in the 8
th inning.
Bloomfield returns to action tomorrow with two games in the Sunshine State. First they remain in Boca Raton for a morning match-up with the University of New Haven before travelling to Barry University for an evening showdown with the Buccaneers.
