LAKEWOOD, NJ – Despite leading by as-many-as twelve points in the game Bloomfield's women's basketball team couldn't hold off Georgian Court University (GCU) on Saturday and suffered a, 75-66 setback on the road. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle left the Bears at 1-7 in league play and 3-14 overall while the Lions improved to 3-12 overall and evened their conference mark at, 3-3.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
· Daniya Darby scored 19 points going 8-10 overall with seven rebounds and six steals.
· Tiara Mahorn scored 14 doing most of her damage at the line where she was 9-10.
· Anisha Able recorded a double-double with 10 points to go along with 13 rebounds.
KEY MOMENTS
· Bloomfield jumped out in front, 7-0 across the first 1:07 of play until the GCU offense erupted for the next 8 points to take a slim lead (8-7). The visiting team enjoyed a 19-15 edge by the end of the quarter, shooting 47.1 percent from the field (8-17). Bloomfield led for all of the 2nd quarter, pushing their lead to as much as 12 after a Darby freethrow at 2:39.The teams went into the locker rooms with the Lions down, 39-30.
· GCU controlled the third period and erased their deficit with a 27-17 quarter and the Bears made only 4 buckets in the frame. Despite regaining the lead to open up the fourth on a layup from Able, Bloomfield's offense went cold and the Lions rattled off a 12-0 spurt to take control of the contest and secure the CACC win.

· Kamrin Babbs added 11 points (5-13 FG, 1-5 3PT) and five rebounds
· GCU forced 26 Bloomfield turnovers and converted them into 39 points while also enjoying a 46-30 advantage in points in the paint.

· Bloomfield will return to the road for their next contest on Tuesday, Jan 23 (5:30 p.m.) when they face Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponent, Caldwell University.
