BLOOMFIELD, N.J. The Bloomfield College of MSU men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie with Dominican University New York on Tuesday night at Foley Field. The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match left the Bears at 1-2-3 overall and 0-1-3 in the CACC while the Chargers moved to a record of 1-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in conference play while.
Matthew Brun got the start in goal for the Bears and is now 0-2-2 on the season surrendering the first score of the match at the 41:17 minute mark. Bloomfield tied the game over one minute later in the 43rd minute of play when
Christian Jhon Cruz scored on a penalty kick that sent both teams to the half, tied at 1-1.
The Chargers offense picked up the pace and fired nine shots in the second half. The Bears managed six shots but neither team could find the go-ahead goal and the game ended in a 1-1 tie,
The visitors had the edge in shots with 14 while the home team finished the night with 11 shots.
Kenet Lopez fired four shots to lead the team with one on target. Dominican also held the edge in corner kicks 6-3.
The team returns to action on Saturday, October 5, 2024 when they travel to face Jefferson University in another CACC battle at noon.
