BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears women's basketball team saw an offensive surge from the University of Bridgeport in the 2nd and 3rd quarters that they could not overcome as the team fell, 77-48 on the road. The Wednesday evening Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game saw Bloomfield's overall record drop to 6-19 and 4-11 in league contests.
The visitor's leading scorer on the year, Taneshia Tucker registered 19 points on 8-for-19 shooting from the field to go with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, a block and a steal. The Purple Knights took a 34-27 lead into the halftime break after putting up 25 points in the second quarter. The home team followed that with a 24-point 3rd quarter to distance themselves from the Bears and put the second-to-last game of the season out of reach.
Tiara Mahorn joined Tucker in double-digit scoring for Bloomfield as she netted 10 points in twenty-four minutes of action off the bench. Anisha Able snagged a team-high, 12 boards and added 6 points.
Bloomfield will close out their season on Saturday, March 2 when they host Caldwell University for Senior Day at 1:00 pm.
