NEW HAVEN, Conn. (August 15, 2024) -- More than 100 teams among the 12 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) member institutions on Thursday were recognized for producing team-wide grade point averages of 3.0 or higher during the 2023-24 academic year as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. In all, 130 of 159 CACC teams that met sport sponsorship (as per NCAA standards) for the 2023-24 campaign notched the 3.0-or-better mark for an average of 82%. In addition to the high number announced on Thursday, the conference also recognized the winners of the CACC Team GPA Award for each of the league's 17 championship sports.
2023-24 CACC TEAM GPA AWARD WINNERS
Nine different member schools earned at least one CACC Team GPA Award including Post University with a league-high six. Chestnut Hill College, Georgian Court University and Goldey-Beacom College each won two GPA awards. The other five schools who earned one CACC Team GPA honor included Bloomfield College, University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Holy Family University and Wilmington University.

Fifteen (15) of the 17 CACC Champions in 2023-24 posted team-wide GPAs of 3.0 or higher. In addition, two CACC Champions earned their respective Team GPA Awards including Post in men's soccer and Chestnut Hill in men's lacrosse.

Eight of the 17 CACC Championship sports saw each of the schools that compete in the sport post team-wide GPAs of 3.0 or higher. The list includes men's golf, women's tennis, women's cross country, women's soccer, women's bowling, men's tennis, softball and women's lacrosse. Overall, 15 of the 17 CACC Championship sports had at least half of their teams produce 3.0-or-better marks.
