Bloomfield, NJ – The Bloomfield College men's soccer team played their season finale at Foley Field Saturday afternoon and came away with a, 1-0 decision over Bryant & Stratton College of Buffalo. The Bears celebrated Senior Day and honored Raynaldo St. Bernard before claiming their second win of the 2025 campaign.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bloomfield (2-7-3) and the Bobcats (0-10-1) played even ball in the first half with the teams going into intermission knotted at, 0-0. The home team boasted an, 8-2 advantage in shots during the opening frame and a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.
- With time ticking down in the final period, Angel Hernandez beat Bryant & Stratton's keeper on a long ball from Deangelo Jimenez and Freddie Vasquez to bring the Bears fans to their feet.
- The home team pressed in the second half and spent a lot of time on the visitors' side of the pitch. The pressure paid off as a Bobcats' defender made a critical mistake in the 89th minute leading to Hernandez's game-winner.
- Freshman keeper, Gamaliel Olarte made three saves, all coming in the final frame as he put in 90 minutes of work for Bloomfield.

- The home team recorded 13 shots in total with 7 of them on goal to the Bobcats 7 shots with only 3 of them on frame.
- Jonathan Morales, Yousif Seoudy, Santiago Sabogal, Pedro Maciel all joined St. Bernard and Hernandez with shots on goal for the Bears.
- Hernandez's goal at the 88:01 minute-mark was his first game-winner of his collegiate career.

St. Bernardo concludes his career with the program scoring three goals this season and five in total for his career. He has started in 47 games for Bloomfield out of the 54 he has played in. He put 60.0 percent of his shots on goal and logged 3,412 minutes in his career. He will graduate from Bloomfield College of Montclair State University with a degree in Game Design.
The Bears close out the 2025 season with 12 goals on the year, averaging 1.09 goals per game. The team attempted 104 shots for the season with 56 of them on target for a 53.8 shots-on-goal percentage. Bloomfield forced 50 corner kicks to their opponents 46 during the year and were 2 out-of 4 on penalty kicks.
