Singleton's Career-High Propels Bears in Season Opening Battle Over Vikings, 104-86

BUFFALO, NY – The Bloomfield College men's basketball team opened their season with a, 104-86 win over Villa Maria College Saturday afternoon. The Bears (1-0) traveled to square off with the Vikings (0-2) for the first time in program history. 
 
Senior, Zamorian Singleton had a breakout game scoring a career-high 27 points on a blistering 13-for-15 from the field. Singleton was joined by fellow starters Semaj Bethea and Marcus Bucknell whose double-digit scoring of 19 and 11 points respectively helped fuel the visitors' offensive spark. Jayden Bates came off the bench to add 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting that included 2-of-3 from beyond the arc.
 
Bloomfield collected 19 steals led by 4 from Singleton and forced 27 Villa Maria turnovers. The visitors capitalized on the home team's miscues with 27 points off of takeaways.
 
 
UP NEXT
 
The Bears will rest the night away in the Empire State and travel to Bryant and Stratton College of Buffalo on Sunday, November 16th. They will tip-off with the Bobcats for the first time ever with a 2:00 pm scheduled start.
