Sheila Wooten Inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame as Women's Basketball Wins, 106-45 Over Bobcats of Ohio

BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Den was filled to capacity Saturday afternoon for Sheila Wooten's induction into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Hall of Fame. The Bears women's basketball team topped off the celebratory afternoon with a, 106-45 victory over visiting Bryant and Stratton College of Ohio. 
 
After an inspiring rendition of the Star Spangle Banner sung by recording artist, Daria Jones, Bloomfield (6-2) opened up the game with a commanding, 30-6 first quarter. The home didn't look back the rest of the way and were led by Bianca Ellis who scored 22 points on 9-for-20 shooting from the floor. 
 
Nia Mallette and Anisha Able each contributed a double-double to Bears offensive attack. Mallette finished the day with 21 points and 11 boards while Able had a game-high 15 rebounds to go along with 20 points. Mallette registered her sixth-straight 20 plus point performance as the Bears remain undefeated in USCAA Division I play at 6-0. 
 
Kaleigh Valle and Tyra Smith came off the bench to score 10 points each as the Bears reserves outpaced the Bobcats (3-9), 37-23. The home team forced 37 turnovers and tallied 30 steals during the game. 
 
At halftime, the Deputy Director of Athletics & Recreation – External Operations / Director of Bloomfield College Athletics, Sheila Wooten was inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame for her contributions across her student-athlete, coaching and administrative career. Mrs. Wooten was welcomed with a thunderous round of applause after CACC Commissioner, Dan Mara introduced her. Wooten was moved to tears as she spoke of her time at Bloomfield and within her speech continued to inspire this generation as she has done for countless years in her various roles.
 
The Bears hit the road for their next contest on Tuesday, December 16th when they face Five Towns College. The first-ever meeting with the Sound is set for a 5:00 pm tip-off in Dix Hills, NY.
