DIX HILLS, NY – The Bears women's basketball team returned to the Empire State and captured a, 94-62 win over Five Towns College on Tuesday evening. Bloomfield collected their seventh-straight win and remain unbeaten in USCAA play with a record of 7-2 overall while the Sound moved to 3-6 on season after the setback.
Nia Mallette led all starters with a game-high, 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 5 steals. Off the bench,
Kaleigh Valle poured in a career-high, 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field which included 5 three-pointers.
The visitors defense forced 33 turnovers and converted them into 44 points. Bloomfield dominated down low with 40 points in the paint thanks to
Anisha Able who had 12 points and a game-high 14 boards while corralling 5 blocks.
Bianca Ellis and
Ania Martinez rounded out the top-scorers with 14 and 11 points respectively.
UP NEXT
The Bears will turn around for another road contest on Thursday, December 18 against Berkeley College in Brooklyn. The first-ever meeting between the two teams is set for a 6:00 pm tip-off.
